Basic Principles of Our Consulting Services PDF
1.) Nature of Sustained Changes
We see the biggest benefit of external consulting in the case when a change has to happeninside an organization. Such a change cannot be simply prescribed, it needs to be actively designed. A volitional but not actively managed change is reflected in the statement: ' We have improved our processes (CM, RM, etc.) but in practice they are not followed.' Hence, it is our assignment to design sustainable changes.

2.) The responsibility for the implementation of the change is borne by the client
Every organization is a stable system on its own (if not, it would break apart). Every change in a system from one stable state to another 'better' stable state, requires that the system will accept the change impulses and incorporate them into the new state. The consultant has to place his carefully developed impulses in such a way, that the system is able to adopt them and the expected change will happen in a sustainable way. However, the system will decide at every point in time how it is processing an impulse. This is particularly valid for social systems. This can be compared to the relation between an athlete and his trainer; the athlete defines the objective (e.g. running the marathon in max. 3 hours); the trainer develops the needed provisions; but the responsibility for the achievement of the objectives is the athlete's.

3.) Bringing in our expertise
We are experts in the area of Configuration Management, which means that we bring our expertise to the design of the processes foccusing on contents. For areas that exceed our expertise we make use of dedicated experts from our network.

4.) A team is working behind every consultant
Every project which focuses on changing the modus operandi (every process improvement project is one of these) is a complex business. Several actions need to be planned, developed and implemented. Many of the actions have correlations in content and schedule. Hence, it is a beneficial if the assignment is accomplished by a team, because a team is more than the sum of its members. The team is also responsible for the tasks of reflection and supervision, which are needed in professional consulting. Even if the client sees only one consultant, a team is working in the background.
