CMII-13: Managing the Software Lifecycle with CMII PDF

Content

This course describes the CMII approach to integrated process excellence and how to apply the techniques to the software product lifecycle. There are no prerequisites although experience with managing software development and software deliverables is expected. Once the CMII principles are understood, students will be well prepared to choose and tailor their specific software development methodology.

The first section covers the critical issues of requirements management and corrective action and why they are germane to any organization. The second section focuses on identification, how to accommodate change and keep requirements clear, concise and valid.

The third focuses on product development and how to define the application requirements, design basis and detailed designs. The fourth section focuses on project planning and managing change and using forms as templates to authorize and control work.

The fifth section focuses on change forms, the implementation of approved changes and changes to changes. The sixth section focuses on operation and maintenance and measurements to guide process improvement in all phases of the lifecycle.
