CMII is the answer to the question, how the processes of a business must be organised and which rules are necessary, so that the fewest possible mistakes, rework and unnecessary activities are needed.

Through increasing competitive pressure and shrinking margins, more and more businesses are being forced to continually optimise their processes that unnecessary costs and resources are avoided. Ever more businesses are therefore adopting the CMII Standard as the basis for better and more integrated processes

"A need for corrective action is a symptom that requirements are out of control"

Corrective action in this context means the extra effort required to correct something which should not have gone wrong in the first place.

Always when we are unsure what is to be done or how something should be carried out, we are speaking of corrective actions. In other words: When we always carry out all tasks as planned, then there will be no corrective action.

Unfortunately this is not normally the case and so each organisation operates in both of the modes described above: Correction mode and Improvement mode. How the available resources are distributed between both modes is dependent on many factors. Frequently more than half the resources are required fore the correction actions, important innovations are left by the wayside.

Corrective actions can be significantly reduced through improving the quality of requirements. An efficient and quick change process, as well as clear responsibilites, clean repository structure and the required information transparency are only some of the basic pre-requisites for this.
